Wexler Oral History Project

Part of the Yiddish Book Centre, the Wexler Oral History Project is a growing collection of in-depth interviews with people of all ages and backgrounds, whose stories offer a rich, complex chronicle of Jewish identity. Based in Amherst, Massachusetts the project collects oral histories both in the United States and around the world.

In early 2017 an extensive field trip was conducted in Melbourne in conjunction with the Kadimah Jewish Cultural Centre and National Library. Using my Sony FS7 kit I was responsible for recording approximately 25 interviews in 3 weeks. Daily deliveries of both the native camera data and prores proxies was required. This was an immensely engaging project to work on having had strong personal and family links to many of the interviewees and the community groups involved.
