Wombat Media launch ‘Rescue Dog’ a short documentary about dog owners and their rescue dogs.
‘Rescue Dog’ is a short documentary about dog owners and their rescue dogs. It tells the story about people’s connections with their dogs. How dogs can really impact on their owner’s lives positively. Intimate interviews with the dog owners explore the incredible bonds that have formed between humans and their rescue dogs.
There are 6 dog owners featured in the documentary. The first is Anita, who found her dog Timmy in Cork city over a year ago. After a long search for Timmy’s owner, they never came forward, so Anita and boyfriend Paul got to keep Timmy.
Lynda, is next up with her 6 stray dogs that she rescued in Hong Kong. In 2013 Lynda brought her 13 dogs over to Ireland. Her dogs have become a huge part of her life and she simply couldn’t leave them behind.
Jessica has a greyhound rescue from D.A.W.G, a cork dog rescue. Jessica is a big dog lover, she’s currently doing a PhD on the benefits of dog walking.
Dawn works with Dogs Trust and educates children on responsible dog ownership in primary schools across Ireland. We see her going to Blarney National school in Cork with her lurcher Piper who she adopted from H.A.R.T dog rescue.
Susan has 3 dogs, 2 lurchers and a collie. These dogs have become family for Susan. Her bond with her dogs is an incredible story.
